2024 Is A Leap Year. Why was the need felt for it? In our current era any year divisible by 4 is a leap year (2016, 2020, 2024, 2028, etc.) except for 1800, 1900, 2100, 2200, 2300 and 2500 which are not.
Why was the need felt for it? 2000 and 2400 are leap years.
